ZOX is: John Zox, Spencer Swain, Eli Miller, Dan Edinberg.

Since the release of their debut album, Take Me Home (Armo), in 2003,
Providence, RI based ZOX has emerged as one of the most promising and original new bands on the New England scene. Characterized by blistering violin melodies, a pulsing backbeat, sophisticated arrangements, and the poignant and personal songwriting of a hapless romantic, the band's diverse sound has won followers across the tyrannical boundaries of genre. In addition, the band's intensely physical, sweat-soaked live show has attracted loyal fans and curious onlookers alike, drawing faithful crowds to clubs and colleges throughout the eastern U.S.

Fueled by opening slots for acts like The Black Eyed Peas, O.A.R., Rusted Root, Everclear, Dispatch, Guster and The Warped Tour 2004, features on MTV's The Real World and Road Rules, a top running single on Providence's WBRU, and nearly 400 shows in two years, Take Me Home has sold more than 12,000 Soundscan-verified copies. Determined management from Shawn Radley (Howie Day) and the band's fervent touring have helped to increase its fanbase exponentially; more than 1,100 fans attend shows at Providence's Lupo's and the ZOX mailing list has almost 15,000 subscribers. Take Me Home also caught the ear of critics, and was named one of the top 10 albums of the year by both the Providence Phoenix and the Providence Journal. Relix magazine called ZOX "a sophisticated quartet that delivers a vibrant, thinking man's brand of hook-laden rock", the Boston Globe called the band's music "odd but endearing", the Northapmton Valley Advocate lauded "a sound like little you've everheard... soaring and triumphant", and The Village Voice described violinist Spencer Swain as "channeling everyone from Papa John Creach to Eddie Van Halen."

In the summer of 2005, Armo Records plans to release ZOX's much anticipated follow-up album, The Wait. Produced by Ted Comerford and mixed by Mitch Easter (REM, Wilco, Pavement), The Wait explores the band's darker, edgier side, capturing the passionate performances and intricate composition of a band on the brink of bigger things.
